About Me
I showed a passion for arts and computers since very early on. My grandfather (mothers side) and father loved to paint, and I've always felt my drawings and design carry a little bit of them wherever they are used. I was born and raised in Costa Rica and since my mom couldn't afford to buy me the latest gaming consoles I learned to use computer emulators to play them for free (Yes... I've bought most of the games I played as a child now that I'm an adult to pay them back). Having to help my classmates with Arts, Computer and English classes paved the way to be the person I am today.
I moved to the U.S. at 17 years old, and after completing an internship at a Church doing Audio/Visuals I enrolled at the Art Institute of California - Orange County. There I was challenged and grew into a "unicorn", the term used in the tech industry to define one that can do both design and development (add a cherry on top if that development is Full Stack).
Now I've used that knowledge and skill set to help small and large businesses accomplish their goals.
When it comes to my 9-5s I use what I've learned as a designer/developer to communicate efficiently across teams, often used as a translator of sorts. Having UX/UI experience allows me to write code and functionality that not only works but keeps the user in mind. And if I ever need to put the designer hat on, my right brain can tap in to the logical side to make the designs easier to code.
I use my side projects to keep me sharp and in touch with clients/users, they also give me a chance to try new technologies and sometimes give back to the community.
That's enough "about me" jargon, now lets see what I can do for you :)
